What Is a Konjac Sponge?
If you've never heard of a konjac sponge, you're not alone. Used in Japanese skincare for generations, it is still a relatively new discovery for many Canadians.
Native to parts of East and Southeast Asia, the konjac plant produces a fibrous root that is transformed into an exceptionally soft cleansing sponge. Firm when dry, it becomes wonderfully gentle when soaked in warm water.
How to Use
- Soak the sponge in warm water until soft.
- Lather with your favourite Natural Elegance soap.
- Gently massage the face or body using circular motions.
- Rinse well.
- Gently squeeze out excess water (never twist) and hang to dry.
Care
- Rinse thoroughly after each use.
- Hang to dry between uses.
- Every two weeks, sanitize by microwaving in a bowl of water for 3 minutes or boiling for 3–5 minutes.
- Replace every 6–8 weeks for the best experience.
